As stated in the last post it seem to be a non winner as I couldnt get passed applegate, but now with me changing from one domain name and then changing it back it seems to have a prolific effect

I think this was more luck than black art seo tricks. I am so glad that i have finally cracked it.. now the next stage is to get version 2 of the website up and get a blog incorporated and rss feeds..

Ongoing SEO improvement

Well I decided to get a couple of new url on the basis of seeing if they would provide better organic seo results.

I noticed a lot of google results of blinds companies seem to get better ranking with xxxxxblinds.co.uk and whilst we are www.bradrail.co.uk i thought one of higher ranking position is through the applegate directory which had us at the 2nd position [even though we paid for a bigger package than the No.1 position due to more companies being called elite [a local competitor] and included the word blinds in their domain name. The applegate directory can hold a lot of weight in similar companies our page rank was a value of 5 with www.bradrail.co.uk since the change the new page rank is 1

I registered a couple of domains with my a company called heartinternet including www.bradrailblinds.co.uk blinds-in-nottingham.co.uk and also awnings-in-nottingham.co.uk thinking i could 301 map them to the original domain www.bradrail.co.uk but unfortunately they want 20 quid a domain and the dns forwarding in their control panel didn't want to play ball and myself a little bit unsure how to set to forward to our site with host reseller with heart internet.

So I had to be satisfied with their domain mapping tool which points a 302 redirect [which isn't search engine friendly] so will have to wait a couple of month before transferring them to the web account and then renewing from their.

The results

Well so far our applegate entry now lives on page 2 of google, but our own seo listing is still on page 1 position 2 [no change]

So what ?

Well we thought we relied on the applegate directory entry for good web presence and also helping us get to position 2 but it looks like that has been built on own web presence

The future
Well I will eventually transfer the domain started to add it some directories and possible try and see if there is any change and it the domain name holds more weight. In the mean time

Is it All worth it ?

I am trying to flog a dead horse finding more ways of getting to no 1 in google organic results with the key phrase blinds nottingham or I should be content with the No 2 position and the position 1 and sub position 2 from the applegate directory

Currently i chickened out leaving the www.bradrailblinds.co.uk in the applegate directory and restored it the www.bradrail.co.uk
